Jay started playing football at the youth level of Zeelandia and made the transition to the youth academy of Ajax in 2011. in 2015, Jay moved to the youth academy of FC Volendam before making the switch to Telstar in 2022. In the summer of 2024 Jay made the switch to Roda JC
