Wessel is a Dutch central defender. In 2019, he switched from the amateur club Alphense Boys to the youth academy of FC Utrecht. At the age of 17, Wessel made his debut for the national youth teams of the Netherlands. In the 22/23 season he also made his debut in professional football for Jong FC Utrecht. Wessel is known as a defender who can take the lead and has good passing skills.
